The purpose of this qualification is to develop learners knowledge and understanding in the area of falls prevention, particularly in the context of health and social care. It is designed for those working or looking to work with individuals at risk of falling.
The TQUK Level 2 Certificate in Falls Prevention Awareness (RQF) was developed in association with The Skills Network and is regulated by Ofqual.
Who is it for?
This qualification is aimed at anyone working in a healthcare or social care environment, particularly those that support, or have contact with, older people who have an increased propensity to falls.
Certificate
On successful completion of this course, you will receive a TQUK Level 2 Certificate in Falls Prevention Awareness (RQF).
Duration
The duration of this course is 12 weeks via distance learning.
What will I learn?
This qualification consists of 4 mandatory units:
- Best practice and legislation relating to falls
- Causes of falls
- Impacts, consequences and costs of falls
- Preventing falls
Assessment
You will be assessed by completing all the required assessments with your tutor providing feedback following completion of each. All assessments must be completed and passed in order for you to successfully achieve the qualification.
Progression
Successful learners can progress to other qualifications such as:
- Level 3 Certificate in the Principles of End of Life Care
- Level 3 Certificate in Preparing to Work in Adult Social Care
- Level 3 Certificate in Stroke Care Management TQUK Level 3 Award in Awareness of Dementia Care
- Level 2 Diploma in Care TQUK Level 3 Diploma in Adult Care
Learners may also wish to expand their knowledge in other areas of Health and Social Care by undertaking one of the following qualifications:
