The Ascentis Level 3 Award in Education and Training is an introductory teaching qualification.
Who is it for?
The award is appropriate for teachers, tutors and trainers who may be working with an educational establishment, community learning centre or for those delivering work based training such as within voluntary, community, private and public organisations.
Those taking the course must be able to read and communicate clearly and accurately enough to the meet the requirements of their training. They must have a Level 2 qualification in English and Maths, and hold a relevant vocational/academic qualification at level 3 in his/her own area of specialism.
On successful completion of this course, you will receive a Level 3 Award in Education and Training certificate from Ascentis.
This course is delivered over 6 days, or 13 sessions.
What will I learn?
- Be able to understand the roles and responsibilities in relation to teaching
- Be able to understand and use inclusive teaching and learning approaches in education and training
- Be able to understand assessment in education and training
You will be assessed through three assignment based tasks (approximately 2,000 words), complete a reflective journal and prepare and deliver a micro-teach session which lasts a minimum of 15 minutes. They must observe a minimum of a further three micro-teaches (one hour in total).
