This course introduces one of the following disciplines of welding: Manual Metal Arc (MMA), Metal Inert Gas (MIG), Tungsten Inert Gas (TIG) or Oxy-acetylene.
Who is it for?
This course is suitable for beginners or those who want to learn welding as part of another trade, ie. heavy vehicle, plant or agricultural engineer.
Upon successful completion of this course delegates will receive a Tyro Certificate of attendance.
This course is delivered over one evening a week for 8 weeks.
What will I learn?
This practically taught course is ideal if you are new to welding or would like to improve your existing welding skills. The course is delivered at Craven college purpose built welding workshop and you will learn metal fabrication, thermal cutting and brazing & soldering along with underpinning health and safety knowledge.
There is no formal assessment for this introductory course.
Individuals may wish to progress to the City & Guilds Accredited Level 1 or Level 2 Welding course which is also delivered by Craven College.
