Qualifications for Assessors (previously A1 Assessor qualification)

Tyro is offering all the new qualifications relating to assessing in relation to the QCF.

Qualifications are unit based

Unit 1
This can be undertaken without access to candidates – ‘Understanding the Principles and Practices of Assessment’. This is delivered through three workshop training sessions plus an assessment - see dates and times below.

Units 2 and 3 require candidates to have access to candidates, who are themselves undertaking qualifications where they are being assessed. Assessors can take either module 2 or 3, or both as applicable to their needs.

Unit 2   
‘Assess Occupational Competence in the Work Environment’- adding this unit achieves  the ’ Award in Assessing Competence in the Work Environment’ and qualifies assessors to undertake work based assessment

Unit 3
‘Assess Vocational Skills, Knowledge and Understanding’ - adding this unit achieves the ‘Award in Assessing Vocationally Related Achievement’ and qualifies assessors to undertake classroom based assessment

Completing all three units achieves the ‘Certificate in Assessing Vocational Achievement’

Costs

Where this is delivered to cohorts of 6 the costs are:

Unit 1 - £250.00
2 units - £700.00
3 units - £795.00

Where this is delivered one-to-one the cost is £480 per unit

Times - All 4.00pm to 6.00pm

Tyro can also provide the Quality Assurance qualifications (formerly Internal Verifier  V1 Award)

 

Updating previous A1 or V1 awards to the new qualifications

Update Sessions are available to update your A1 or V1 qualifications to the new QCF standards, in a 2 hour workshop:

• Learn the difference between the old A1/V1 and the QCF qualifications
• Refresh your knowledge of basic assessment/IV principles
• Update your skills for the QCF
• Receive a Tyro certificate for your CPD folder

Cost

£120 per participant on a one to one basis. Where we can deliver to a number of candidates the cost may be reduced.
