NPTC Award in Tractor Driving and Related Operations

This course is designed for any person who drives or would like to drive a tractor with or without implements as part of their work. This course is designed to help tractor drivers carry out their work safely and will give trainees the confidence to become a competent and safe operator when driving and handling a wheeled tractor.

Course Content

• Appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
• Legal requirements and safety regulations
• Pre-start checks and daily maintenance
• Function of controls
• Interpretation of instrument reading
• Hitching to trailed and mounted equipment
• Manoeuvring with trailed and mounted equipment attaching PTO (power take off) driven machinery
• Operating a fore-end loader
