"Creative and professional solutions for enterprising people in enterprising businesses."
Tyro provides comprehensive support for a number of core business sectors:

Tyro would currently like to hear from trainers in relation to the following areas:
Contact David Llewellyn or Steve Finch on 01756 797266 .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address) for more information
You should also see the main college web site here >> for information about specific advertised positions and working in the wider college
Tyro prides itself on providing flexible and relevant solutions to the issues that our clients face, and we therefore have an ongoing policy of engaging new trainers and assessors to ensure that the skills and background of our team match the changing needs of our clients.
Trainers / Assessors are recruited on the basis of their practical experience in the real world allied with the ability to translate that knowledge and experience where relevant into an interesting and stimulating training / assessing session, rather than solely on academic achievement.
Tyro does not recruit staff directly to permanent training / assessing posts either full time or part time (expect where specifically advertised – click on this link to see current vacancies via the main Craven College) nor do we guarantee a minimum number of hours’ training / assessing.
All training and assessing staff (whilst they normally have legal status of employee, and are paid through payroll, except in exceptional circumstances) will be engaged for specific work and allocated to client activity on the basis of their experience and availability.
Tyro follows Craven College policies on recruitment of staff, and all trainers / assessors are therefore required to:
• Provide the names and addresses of 2 referees, ideally from the most recent and previous employer
• Have (or be working towards) a teaching qualification:
- Cert. Ed. or PGCE (minimum Preparing to Teach in the Lifelong Learning Sector)
- Assessors also are required to hold an A1 qualification
• Hold an appropriate qualification (to at least level 3) or have equivalent practical experience relevant to the training / assessing they undertake
• Register as a member of the Institute for Learning (IfL) and the appropriate professional body(ies) relevant to the training / assessing they undertake
• Obtain a Criminal Records Bureau – Enhanced Disclosure check.
• Undertake ongoing Continuous Professional Development activity to ensure currency of business practices and subject knowledge as well as current developments in training design and delivery or assessment methodology. Record and monitor ongoing CPD activities.
• Be prepared to work towards appropriate QTLS/ATLS status as part of professional development
