This course aims to raise awareness of the legislation that applies to vulnerable groups and how these policies can be applied in practice. It covers issues such as types of abuse that can occur, how to spot them, and how to take action.  Developing a safeguarding culture and creating a safe environment, along with whistle blowing and codes of practice. This course includes scenarios to help learners to think about what they would do in a given situation.

• Prevention of abuse through raising awareness
• Where abuse may occur and who the abusers could be
• What to do if they suspect abuse is occurring
• When, how and who to report concerns
• Recognising the safeguarding adults policy and procedures as a resource
