This course will broaden your knowledge of the most commonly diagnosed mental health conditions. It helps to develop awareness and explains the signs and symptoms of these conditions and how they may affect the day-to-day lives of those affected. By understanding these conditions it can help give an insight into how to help and offer support to those who may need it.
Who is it for?
This course would be of particular use to anyone who, in a professional or personal capacity, wish to know more about a range of mental health conditions in order to improve awareness and understanding.
On successful completion of this course, you will receive an NCFE CACHE Level 2 Certificate in Awareness of Mental Health Problems.
This course is delivered over a number of months via distance learning.
What will I learn?
- Understanding mental health, definitions, impact and the law
- Understanding anxiety disorders, stress, anxiety and phobias
- Understanding mood disorders, depression, post-natal and bipolar
- Understanding other mental disorders: schizophrenia, dementia, eating disorders, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, obsessive compulsive disorder and post-traumatic stress disorder.
You will be assessed by completion of a learning work-book supported by feedback from your tutor. The workbook contains reflective activities designed to reinforce your learning and test your knowledge.
